Surf is small and it's kinda windy vid + pic

The surf looks kinda small today and the wind is giving the water a little texture.  I did see a few surfers out there this morning but not too many.

The funny thing is that there are some baby dolphins that are out having a good time and they don't seem to mind that the surf is kinda crappy;)

Gray Day

It's kinda gray and mushy out there today.  There is also a little wind so there is a little chop going on... not much in the way of rideable waves although you may be able to pull it off on a longboard ;)

Here is a pic of Crystal Pier:

Here are some pics I snapped off today here at Crystal Pier.  The surf actually looked decent.  Not always the most rideable waves but some weren't half bad.

Should be some fun ones out there today.

Hello guys,

My name is Courtney and I am the creator of Surf2Phone.com - a site that provides a free daily text message surf report for San Diego. First off let me say that it has been a long time since I touched Surf2Phone;)

I intend to use use this blog to keep people up to date with new features and I am going to make announcements here whenever I am able to add new reports.

I started this site back in 2006 and originally it was a pay service.  Back then I had a hard time getting people to sign up and text messaging was expensive (still is) so after a few months of racking up some serious text messaging bills I converted the messaging system to use email as a delivery mechanism and offered it as a free service.

The problem with delivering text messages by email is that some times the messages get held up for a little bit and they take a little longer to get there.  I guess since it's free I can't complain but it does cause some registration headaches for new users because sometimes the activation message takes a few minutes to hit the cell phone.

Well like I said before It's been a long time since I have worked on Surf2Phone.  I am a software developer by trade and for a while I was coding all the time and working crazy hours and to make a long story short I burnt out.  Since Surf2Phone doesn't make any money I had put it on the back burner.  To this day I read every single support email that comes to the site, however I apologize because I haven't replied to all of them.

A lot has happened since I first launched Surf2Phone,  I sold the mobile marketing machine, I traveled the world for almost a year with my wife, I started a company with my friends and I had a lot of fun.  At the end of the day I always wanted to come back to Surf2Phone and make it a better service.

The number one request I get (besides STOP sending me TEXT MESSAGES!!!) is to add more spots.  So over the next few weeks and months I am going to work to improve Surf2Phone and expand the coverage to as many surf spots as I can find.

One final note.  One of the major reasons that I am focusing some energy on the site is because of the users.  I thought if I neglected the site no one would sign up and eventually I would just be able to take the site down quietly.  Good plan in theory and it would have worked except for the fact that over the years more and more people keep signing up to receive their free text message surf report.  I don't have a ton of users in my database but I do have more then when I started and the number always seems to keep increasing.  I guess that means that some people must like the service.

Any way stay posted cause there will be more announcements here on the blog shortly and I am going to do my best to make something out of this site.

If you like the service feel free to post a comment and let me know.

Thanks,
Courtney
